West Coast helps community groups, First Nations and individuals understand and use their legal rights to protect their communities, nature and the climate from the threat of proposed tar sands pipelines and tankers.

This includes providing legal and strategic support to First Nations and communities using Canadian and Indigenous law to protect the lands and waters they call home from the risky Trans Mountain pipeline and tanker proposal, as well as efforts to secure a legislated tanker ban on the north Pacific coast.
