Andrew Ambers is Kwakwaka’wakw from the ‘Namgis and Ma’amtagila. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (hons.) in Political Science and Indigenous Studies from the University of Victoria and he is a Juris Doctor (JD) and Juris Indigenarum (JID) Candidate at the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Law. Ambers is a Graduate Fellow of Indigenous Internationalisms with the Borders in Globalization Research Lab at the University of Victoria and contributes to various research grants on Indigenous law, Indigenous governance, and Aboriginal rights in Canada and beyond. He has authored various publications on Indigenous law, Indigenous international law, and Aboriginal law. His primary areas of interests are associated with Indigenous ocean law, Indigenous international law, and marine Aboriginal rights.
